My visual identity project redesigns Chi Wei's company logo, name card, and created one complete logo identity guideline.
The redesigning of Chi Wei's logo kept the core silhouette of its then globe-shaped icon.
As my design direction focused on cherishing the company's heritage and core belief, I set out to redesign as authentic as possible to its original shape, and reviving it with minimalistic lines and contemporary colourways.
Design
The original logo was composed of green and blue colour blocks, layered in a paralleled order, gradually forming the shape of a globe.
My design aimed to keep hold of the earth icon as well as the two signature colour combination. The redesign process began with the merging of the company's initial characters: "C", "W", and Chi Wei's Chinese character radical "糸".
The weavings of these three characters are exceptionally significant as being the company's initials, they are formed into curves outlining the globe, symbolizing heritage is cherished as well as innovated in one united order.
The original distinctive colour blocks were redesigned into one harmonious gradient. It is a notable symbolism for connecting the heritage with innovation, treasuring the ties between human and environment, remembering the life and beauty bridging us with the earth, the sky, and the ocean.
